Brotherhood Chant #1

For ranger street sits and demonstrations. Melody will be posted soon.
Composed May 21, 2014, The Year Of Our Lord
Anandaguru Omkaracharya of Portland

We have formed a brotherhood
For the healing of the world
Now our banner is unfurled

Livin' in the nooks and crans
'Gainst their wish against their plan
We have formed a dharma band

When you know sat-chit-ananda
You know God, they never told ya
With our grace we now enfold ya

We're the ones they threw away
We're the ones that they let hang
Bringing you a brighter day

We are saddhus of the west
Puttin' you to timeless test
Lovin' God and dharma best

When you know the bliss of dreams
You know God, Iswara's seen
God's defined as these sweet things

Get the bhakti, get the kriya
Get the shakti, Nice to see ya!

Get the mantra, get the yoga
Get kumbhaka, really good to knowin' ya!

Jesus was a poor saddhu
Magic king who loved us too
European sat-guru

Look: The lilies of the field
Look: The sparrow gets her meals
Sadhu Christ did well reveal

You don't need the porn or drugs
More tattoos or ear lobe plugs
Needin' bliss come from above

You have had Thing One and Two
Lots of sex and TV too
Drugs will never work for you

Drivin round inside your car
Goin' to the malls and bars
While ya get more lonely thar

 For the God-man, burden's light
From religion, joy and light
Happiness from living right

We proclaim samadhi bliss
And we claim both God and myth
Shaktipat and siddhis rich

Cling ye to the sat guru
Meditate with bhakti too
It will always work for you

By him you can set your store
Show them what a life is for
Join your brothers in this war

Claim the bliss, renounce the sin
With the dharma we will win
Tell your brothers, call your kin!

We are Johnny Appleseeds
Here attending to your needs
Listen to our chant and creed

Though we're poor we're feeling fine
Only for the Lord we pine
Though we're homeless we do shine

We're proclaimin' brahmachars
We don't need those cars and bars
We have got the farthest stars

Yogananda, Christus Rex!
On ananda they're well fed
Conquer sorrow, conquer death

Saints of India, Saints of Europe!
Drank the same sweet bhakti syrup
Ride with us, we're in the stirrup

Ramakrishna, Saint Teresa
Nice to see you, nice to meet ya
In samadhi, in kumbhaka

Yoga comes from attitude
Sing a song about the
Sing at church and feel renewed

Join the chorus of the just
Hey! We chant because we must
Atheism's such a bust

Stand around your churches great
Make the preacher get it straight
It's a joy and not to late

Preach the Christian bhakti-yoga
Never say we never told ya
Sent an email, telephoned ya

Don't be cold and don't be yellow
Join in with your racial fellows
Order-maker is the rebel

Be a rebel: Say "Hello"
In a lefty hell-bardo
Saying "Hi" will shock them most

Cut the porn and cut the drugs
Love your people, give them hugs
Out the Marxist, route the thugs

We will plant the apple core
We have breached the mystic door
Atheism's such a bore

Call your sister, call your kith
Tell your mother, make a wish
Tell your father "It begins"

When you know samsara's cause
All your dirty karma load
Dirty body, dirty toad

Claim the yoga, claim your kin
'Nandaguru's road begins
With the dharma you will win

Now we have the friends we chose
Truth's alive in all our bones
Rectitude bring back our bros!

Join the saints of Europe's Land
Chant the hymn like gram and gramps
Christian bhakti-yoga's grand!

Do the tapas, take a shower
You project the dirty flower
Clean it up, it's in your power

Get the bliss and get the siddhis
In the forest in the city
Do the spiritual nitty-gritty

John the fun and join the chorus
We know God, He'll never bore us
We don't mind if you adore us

If you like the way we roll
Join the arc and man this boat
Take a drink of this White Soul

We have formed a brotherhood
For the healing of the world
Now our banner is unfurled
